New job and diploma

Posted in Life by Roel on the March 8th, 2007

At the risk of becoming a life logger, here’s an update of my life for those of you are voyeuristically-inclined.

In February, I quit my job at Nimbuzz. I did my graduation project there in the beginning of 2006 and worked there for half a year after that. I had tremendous amounts of fun there and learned a lot about .NET programming and collaborating with different kinds of people with unique characters. As much as I liked working in such a dynamic environment I decided to seek new adventures.

As I found out, looking for a new job as a .NET developer in the current job climate is not exactly *hard*. I posted my resume on a big online job site and to my surprise, I spent the two weeks after that answering calls every 5 minutes! Fun? yeah kinda. Ego-tripping? you bet’ya. Slightly annoying after a while? absolutely. Anyway, after spending literally hours answering calls and after about 8 job interviews I settled on the big website/portal/intranet company Tam Tam. I started working there on March 1 and I’m enjoying the environment very much.

Besides getting a new job, last month was a pretty exciting one for me. After 5 1/2 years of sweating and boozing I finally got my Bachelors degree in ICT at the Technical University in Rijswijk, NL. I had a really nice time there and made a lot of friends.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to have to talk to my boss about a raise ;)
