TVGids Widget Kapot
Tvgids Widget update
I got some comments about the last version of my TVGids.nl widget. It had some bugs and was pretty outdated. I made some small updates to it and fixed the main bug (I think…). I also added a feature that shows a download link for the latest version of the widget if there is a newer version available.
Check out the new version and let me know what you think!
Taiko Drumming in Spain
I spent the last week in Spain, where I took part in a Taiko Drumming workshop organized by Circle Percussion. I had a great time and the group that took part in the workshops was great. The surroundings weren’t bad either; an old olive farm called Finca Forata.
Here are a bunch of pictures from the trip.
New job and diploma
At the risk of becoming a life logger, here’s an update of my life for those of you are voyeuristically-inclined.
In February, I quit my job at Nimbuzz. I did my graduation project there in the beginning of 2006 and worked there for half a year after that. I had tremendous amounts of fun there and learned a lot about .NET programming and collaborating with different kinds of people with unique characters. As much as I liked working in such a dynamic environment I decided to seek new adventures.
As I found out, looking for a new job as a .NET developer in the current job climate is not exactly *hard*. I posted my resume on a big online job site and to my surprise, I spent the two weeks after that answering calls every 5 minutes! Fun? yeah kinda. Ego-tripping? you bet’ya. Slightly annoying after a while? absolutely. Anyway, after spending literally hours answering calls and after about 8 job interviews I settled on the big website/portal/intranet company Tam Tam. I started working there on March 1 and I’m enjoying the environment very much.
Besides getting a new job, last month was a pretty exciting one for me. After 5 1/2 years of sweating and boozing I finally got my Bachelors degree in ICT at the Technical University in Rijswijk, NL. I had a really nice time there and made a lot of friends.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to have to talk to my boss about a raise ![]()
New version of the TVGids widget
I got a lot of reactions about my ancient, yet handy TVGids.nl widget. Alot of people liked it a lot, but also had some feature request. I finally had some time to implement these requests so here’s a new version!
New features
- Included Belgian channels in the “Nu en Straks” mode (not yet in the channellist mode)
- Clicking a program in the widget will now take you to the program information on tvgids.nl.
- Selecting a channel in the channellist will automatically close the list

New Site!
Even though no living soul ever visits this site, I decided to update it anyway! I guess taking on a new job at a website design firm triggered something. I’ll update the rest of the site as soon as possible, including the only popular page on this site, the TVGids.nl widget page. For some reason I still get reactions on this widget, most of them from belgium, asking me to update the widget to also show belgian channels. I will do this soon! I hope I can find some time now and then to update this site more often in the future
